Polish National Cemetery Photo Gallery
Start Here for a photo tour of the Polish National Cemetery, or select from the list below. The cemetery is the final resting place for members of the Polish army who died storming the Benedictine Abbey in May of 1944 during the Battle of Monte Cassino. The Polish army was led by General Wladyslaw Anders. General Anders did not die during the battle, but when he did pass away in 1970 his wishes were that he be buried with those fallen soldiers he commanded at Monte Cassino.
