The Roman Empire, Christianity, The Renaissance and The New World, four eras of mankind that are without question four of the major periods civilization has ever known. Great testaments to mankind, Italy has brought us civilization, culture, genius and religion, what other nation can boast of such greatness? Its as though this peninsula was touched by the very hand of God and, I think as you read on you'll start to think so as well! I'll lay claim in this article as to just how lucky the entire world is that Italy has ever existed. It is also my personal opinion that the Italians will not settle with just four empires, a new Renaissance is developing throughout the world in music, fashion, automobiles as well as anything that says, "made in Italy". This is especially evident in America, the very land we discovered in the first place. The reason for my belief comes from the knowledge of her glorious past. The past is always a mirror into the future and it shows a history so filled with splendor, it shakes the very essence of our souls.

Sociologists tell us that one of our strongest needs is being accepted by others. Having others believing as we do is important to our physiological well being and whether it be through a religion or a political persuasion, people just love to belong. I, for example, love my nationality! I think its wonderful being a descendant of one of the world's greatest countries. Being born here is fine, I'm a very proud American, and its just nice to know that my roots are planted deep in Italian tradition. America is always in my heart but, Italy is in my blood!

So here goes, I'll try to prove to the reader the magnificence of Italy and why I feel so honored to be an Italian. I will show how Italy has given the world not one but, four great empires.
