  • Interview with Italian American Actress and Model Robin Arcuri
    Part 1 of 3 - Robin's Family and Heritage

    Interviewed by Anthony Parente

Robin, thank you for taking the time to be interviewed for the Web site Italiansrus.com. Robin's career started at a very young age when she placed runner-up in the Miss Teen California Pageant at the age of 13. This opened her career in modeling. Robin has posed for Maybelline, Gucci, Teen, Vogue, Glamour and Cosmopolitan to name a few. Robin's beauty and gorgeous figure led her to grace the cover of Playboy's Voluptuous Vixens III. In addition to modeling Robin wanted to pursue acting. She has appeared in a number of television shows including the popular HBO series Entourage. She played the supporting actress in the movie Ripple Effect (2007) and is currently working on a number of projects.

What part of Italy does your family come from?
My Grandfather was born in Naples. He was blonde, with medium olive skin, and light eyes. We are currently researching our Italian heritage in greater detail.

Have you had a chance to visit Italy and the town your family is from?
I've saved my first visit to Italy for a honeymoon that never came, because I've never married. So I think I may take a visit there soon and see the entire country. I am studying the language now. Hopefully I'll have a really cute chaperone to show me around when I get there. Any takers?

In TEEN magazine you mentioned that you were going to "marry your career." Care to elaborate on that?
Yes, I said that and I think I did actually marry my career. I am now at the age where having children would be a "good thing" but I'm not convinced that every woman who's born should have children just because she's a woman. Timing is key and so is a good solid foundation. I don't feel that as of now I have everything to offer a child I feel they deserve.

Do you still have relatives in Italy?
Yes we still have relatives In Italy but we need to locate them since my Grandfather kept everything a secret. He spoke fluent Italian and refused to teach my father (his children) the language.

Did your parents have any specific Italian traditions that they continued to follow and share with you as you were growing up?
What are those? Just kidding! La Bomboniera, homemade wine, most of the wedding traditions, coloring Easter Eggs, waiting to see what presents La Befana would bring me on Christmas and house warming gifts. I wish we had more. Does hanging out with other Italian's count? We do that a lot here. I drive 40 minutes to Eagle Rock Italian Bakery for my basic imported groceries, and authentic Italian baked goods.

    Are you religious?
Having grown up around the Catholic, Jewish, and Baptist faiths, I have great respect for all religions.

Are you by any chance related to Italian actress Manuela Arcuri?
It is possible. I think that would also depend on many factors and whether or not Arcuri is her stage name or her birth name, as mine is. Many actresses use stage names to protect their identity. It would be really cool if we were related, she's a beauty!
