    		• Campanile di Giotto

    Start Here for a photo tour of the Campanile di Giotto, or select from the list below. The campanile is a bell tower that is located next to the Cathedral in Florence. Giotto di Bondone was the architect for the campanile. Construction began in 1334 and it was completed in 1359. During that time Giotto died in 1337 and was replaced by Andrea Pisano who died in 1348. Pisano was replaced by Francesco Talenti who completed the project in 1359. The tower has seven bells named: Campanone, La Misericordia, Apostolica, Annunziata, Mater Dei, L'Assunta and L'Immacolata.
