    Our Paesani

    by Francesca Di Meglio

It's that time of year again, when I start planning my next trip to Ischia to be with my fiancé Antonio and our friends, and family, who live there. This trip is going to be especially special because Antonio and I will wed in a civil service ahead of our church nuptials in Ischia in October and a vow renewal in the United States in November. It's going to be a whirlwind, I'm sure. But it won't stop me from taking in a bit of the glory that is Ischia. Here are some of my past photo albums, which depict all the sites that I never want to miss when I visit my island paradise:

    The Main Hub of Ischia

This is where I live when I'm in Ischia. It's the capital, where you'll find all the action - from restaurants to beaches to nightclubs. In the spring, Ischia Porto wakes from its slumber and welcomes tourists, from all over but especially Europe, with open arms. In this album, you'll witness the charms of Ischia's port and capital -- from the church of San Pietro, where Antonio and I will be getting married, to the fruit market.

    Poseidon Gardens

A day at one of Ischia's most popular thermal water parks is a great way to get revitalized and give your body a rest. And Poseidon Gardens is one of the oldest and most famous on the island. From the colorful flowers that greet you when you arrive to the buffet lunch, you'll feel like you've joined another world.

    Our Place in the Sun

Experience the delight of spending a day at Negombo, a thermal pool park in Ischia, that rivals Poseidon in its beauty. All of the pools at Negombo are carved out of stone. It's a very natural, organic look. But the sweetest spot in the park is the hammock in the shade that overlooks the private beach area reserved for park goers.

A Tour of La Mortella Gardens

I enjoyed La Mortella Gardens in Ischia so much that I want to take you there, too. Enter this photo album to see the beautiful flowers and fountains that make up this wonderland in southern Italy.
